Hi,

I wanted to report that I have crashes when opening the map on Cyberpunk 2077 version 1.6 with the current version of ReShade, 5.4.2.

I've tested and sometimes it doesn't crash at the first opening but at the second one. It seems to do it only with the map, not with the other menus (inventory, journal, etc...) or even with the pause menu (Esc). Just the map.

I uninstalled ReShade to be sure and the problem doesn't occur anymore even if I open and close the map several times quickly.
I have already read the existing topics about similar issues but the "fixes" don't work and they are not linked to the same version of ReShade.

Thank you!

EDIT : Using the ReShade 4.9.1 don't cause the game to crash. So I actually use it.

I am glad I am not alone!

I did exactly what you said here:

"It seems to do it only with the map, not with the other menus (inventory, journal, etc...) or even with the pause menu (Esc). Just the map."

I went through all menus and no crashes whatsoever happened, but the moment I do this again after going to and leaving the map menu it crashes
I also uninstalled Reshade 5.4.2 and to make sure the crashes are from it and that is indeed the case like you said here:

"I uninstalled ReShade to be sure and the problem doesn't occur anymore even if I open and close the map several times quickly."

I am also using Reshade 4.9.1 for now till they fix it and it's working fine! Thanks friend

Hi!

Glad to see we are two now to help crosire to identify the issue. It seems linked to the game more than to ReShade because 5.4.2 works completely well on other games. CDPR should really start to really work on their game instead of releasing unfinished and unpolished products.

About the 4.9.1, it's a try I have made after reading the topic here ( reshade.me/forum/troubleshooting/8231-so...h-on-main-menu#44359 ) and reading the message #5 from deepbluefrog about this version. Even if the issue in the topic is not the same, I have thought it could be good to try it and it works.

Good to know it's working fine for you too! Now we can enjoy until crosire find a way to deal with the capricious REDengine.

For what it's worth I've just started playing CP2077 1.6 with Reshade 5.4.2 and 30 hours in haven't had a single crash. And this is using demanding shaders like RTGI as well.

However I've also been using the Fidelity FX 2.1 DLSS mod: www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3001

Maybe that's somehow making a difference?

It looks like you are using an AMD GPU if you are using a mod for AMD technology? If so, the difference must be there, on the brand of the GPU.

Considering the problem with the map and water rendering on Cyberpunk 2077 with the latest NVIDIA drivers, 522.25, I wouldn't be surprised if these issues occur on NVIDIA GPUs with ReShade and not on AMD GPUs.

CDPR has a talent for releasing games and engines that have more issues than solutions than other studios.

No, a 1080Ti here :) The FSR works on any GPU brand, hence why the DLSS to FSR mod is so popular, anyone can use it whether they've got an AMD GPU, Intel, or Nvidia pre-RTX cards (like my one) -- FSR doesn't need 'tensor cores' like DLSS, yet performs and looks almost the same. Good old Nvidia artificially restricting technology again. AI models don't take a lot of processing power to run, only training them does. This is why a smartphone can run AI-based image recognition offline for eg. But I digress :) FSR 2.0 is DLSS for everyone, no matter the brand or power of the card.

Actually, I must say that I'm more waiting for a fix from crosire for the map CTD because using the ReShade 4.9.1 cause visual glitch to water at a certain distance, surely because of the RTX technology enable. The issue don't show up with 5.4.2 but the game keeps crashing everytime we open the map.

Like we need the map to locate some areas like the NCPD calls, it's getting really annoying. I hope crosire can find a fix for this shitty REDengine.

EDIT : I just tried the 5.4.1 and it works too. I'm happy it's the case.
EDIT 02 : And nope, 5.4.1 lead to a CTD too but 5.1.0 seems to be the one that avoid the distant water visual glitch and the map CTD so I use it actually.

There is a confirmed bug with the latest 522.25 Nvidia drivers and the Cyberpunk map. It appears to only affect 3-series cards.

ManuelG over at the Guru3D forums has confirmed the issue and posted a fix for the time being:

Yes, I know it's confirmed. I thought before that distant water visual glitch is another issue linked to the drivers too but in fact no, it was because I used the 4.9.1 version of ReShade. Uninstalling ReShade stopped the water visual glitch so I have tried a 5.x.x version of ReShade to find one that don't cause any CTD when opening the map and it seems that the 5.1.0 do the trick for now. But any other versions above, including the lastest one, keep crashing the game when opening the map, directly with the shortcut or using the Main Menu.

About the fix, I can get the 3D Profile Manager but when I try to download the "cyberpunk2077profile.txt" I have an error message saying "Error. Please try again later." so I can't get the fix. I hope for the permanent fix to come soon.

But for now, I'm more impatient about the fix from crosire to let us use ReShade with Cyberpunk 2077.

@YoursTrulyBilly

If you're still interested and you expriment the distant water shader glitch with 4.9.1, I think I have finally find what's going wrong between Cyberpunk and ReShade.

Install a clean install of the 5.4.2 then launch the game once to do the configuration like shortcuts, etc... Before leaving, make sure to go in the Addons tab and uncheck Generic Depth. An info let you know that it will be disable after next launch. So, just quit Cyberpunk and then launch it again. You can check with the ReShade overlay that it's disabled.

There, when you're ingame, you should be able to open and close the map, directly of with the Main Menu, without any CTD.

So, if you reading this @crosire, it seems that the issue of CTDs with map and interface in Cyberpunk is linked to the Addons Generic Depth function.
