I have attempted using the fixes in the "common problems and how to fix them" pinned thread. Altering the preprocessor variables did nothing, I already disabled KotOR II's anti-aliasing, and I saw no indication of Reshade thinking it is on an online game. When using the "Display Depth" shader, I don't see anything on either side, merely a black screen. This black screen persists on menus such as the inventory, and the preset I am using ( www.nexusmods.com/kotor2/mods/1068?tab=description ) does not alter the depth buffers in any way. I have also already tried using different versions of Reshade, version 3s colors were broken, and although 5's programming works fine it alters the shaders in such a way they do not work as intended. Any assistance?

Not sure why there is surprise that an old version of ReShade does not have as well of a compatibility as the latest version of ReShade. And ReShade 5 does not change how shaders behave compared to previous versions, so there is no good reason not to update to latest which is known to work perfectly in that game.

I'm wondering if there's anything I'm missing that could potentially help with the depth problem on 4.3.0. If there isn't anything, I'll cut my losses and go home as the shader requires 4.3.0 to work as intended. In case my first post was unclear (being pissed off and tired of reloading a game for 2 hours does that, lol), I have already:

-Checked that the ReShade client is not thinking KotOR II is multiplayer
-Turned off in-game anti-aliasing
-Toggled and tweaked with the Preprocessor effects

Which shader is that? It doesn't make sense for a shader to require an old version to work (beyond 3.0).

Excuse the late reply.

www.nexusmods.com/kotor2/mods/1068?tab=description

It uses the following shader effects:
-BloomAndLensFlares
-Curves
-DPX
-HDR
-Mode3 (aka FineSharp)
-FXAA
-HSLShift
-Emphasize
-LUT
-MultiLUT
-PPFX SSDO
-Technicolor
-Technicolor 2
-Tonemap

Most either did nothing or did something outside of their original intent on 5.0. IIRC, the technicolors, curves, and Mode3 worked. PPFX SSDO darkened the entire screen somewhat without providing any of the ambient occlusion it is supposed to, emphasize turned everything except the center of the screen monochrome and the rest apparently did nothing.

In 4.3.0, presently the ones that work are Bloom, Curves, Mode3, FXAA, HSLShift, Emphasize, LUT, and MultiLUT. PPFX SSDO is broken as seen in the image below, and the other shaders (DPX, HDR, Technicolors, and Tonemap) turn the screen black. Additionally, when I use DisplayDepth, both sides of the screen are fully black and therefore not working.

The case has been closed. The author had entirely neglected to mention that his preset also (mostly) works on 4.9.1 on his KotOR II version of the shader, but he mentioned this on his KotOR I version of the shader. However, I can't really blame him for that as he only recently figured out the intended 4.3.0 version was FUBAR.

Why it worked on 4.3.0 at the time of creation and why it doesn't now, I have no clue, but I've managed to get everything except Emphasize working correctly and I just need to tweak the AO to my preference. See you around

Bisected the changes since 4.3 and 4.3 had a bug that caused effects to not render correctly in OpenGL in certain scenarios (which KotOR hit). This bug was fixed in 4.8. But this means that presets done with an older version than 4.8 were misconfigured and not using the effects as they should actually look like and applying those presets to 4.8 or later would look off.
Emphasize does work too, you may just have to tweak the FocusDepth and FocusRangeDepth values to your particular setup, since depending on how depth linearization was configured with DisplayDepth, this may be different on your setup compared to the preset authors setup.
