Dark Box When Effects Enabled (sims 4)

Hello. There is a dark box that takes up the top left and middle of the screen when I enable effects. I'm using version 3.0.8. It creates this area around it that distorts the screen and ruins the screen shot. Is there a way to fix this?

If I update, won't the re shaders I have for the game stop working due to the versions being incompatible?
