Game won't start

Hi, i'm trying to get Spider-man: Web of Shadows to work with Reshade. The issue here is that whenever i have the dx9.dll on the game executable folder the game refuses to start but once i remove it the game works so... any suggestions on how to fix this?

Win XP compatibility: fail
