ReShade FINALLY works in Necesse – 100 % confirmed (December 2025)
For years everyone kept saying “impossible”… turns out it’s stupidly simple:
Run ReShade_Setup_4.9.1.exe → go to your Necesse folder → jre\bin → select kinit.exe → pick OpenGL → install shaders.
That’s it. Launch the game, hit Ctrl + / (numpad divide) and the full ReShade menu appears instantly. Zero crashes, everything works perfectly.
Newer versions (tested 5.5.1 and 6.6.2) do NOT work with this trick, so keep that golden 4.9.1 build close – sometimes the oldest really IS the greatest 😁
